My second weekend of nannying I went to Granada. I stayed there with a British friend from frisbee. I had been to Granada a few years ago when I was studying abroad. That time I got to see La Alhambra, but didn't have much time to explore the city. This time I got lots of time to walk around and see the older part of the city Sacromonte and Albaicin.

You can't go to Granada without going out at night. Granada is famous for its student party scene (but I went in summer, so they were all gone) and tapas. I guess I didn't do Granada right because I didn't go out for tapas, but I'm living through it. We did make it to a couple of bars.
At one of them we found 20 guys dressed up as a monks. They were having a going away pub crawl for their friend who will soon be joining a monastery.
A bad photo, but excellent view. One of the bars we went to was on the side of a mountain. The first floor of the bar was a series of furnished caves and from there you go up 3 flights of stairs to a large terrace that gives you a night time view of La Alhambra.
After 2 great nights and a wonderful day in Granada I head to Sevilla for the afternoon. In retrospect this was really stupid because Sevilla is one of the hottest places in all of Spain. I ducked into places inside most of the day because it was in the mid-90s all day, not great walking around weather. Then back to El Puerto!
