Ultimately I would like to go to graduate school for physical therapy. I spent my first year out of college moping around Evanston, looking for jobs, a way to leave my parent's house, and a purpose. It was a pretty depressing year for me, but in the end things finished on a high note.
My plan... I'm going to move back home indefinitely (yes, mom and dad are aware of this and excited. Especially since I can cook now). Starting in the spring I will take classes at the local community college to work on pre-requisites for physical therapy school. Depending on the job on find when I return will effect how many classes and I take and thus how soon I can apply to schools. HOPEFULLY, I will be applying to go to school in Fall of 2012 and will be accepted. That is out of my control.
As far as jobs go, I have decided I cannot under any circumstances work in a school. Other than my job at a library in college and my many years babysitting, my only job experience is from schools. I spent this year as a teacher's assistant, the year before, and every summer since I was 18 doing the same thing. I think it's time for a change.
While I will definitely keep working with kids, returning to some of my old babysitting jobs (I can't even tell you how hard it's been to be away from the kids I babysit and their families. My first year out of college they were such an important part of my life. I really want to see how much they have all changed, some of them have new siblings and of course they're amazing parents) I need to try something new. So for now, I'm not sure what my job will be, what I'll be doing etc. I will be looking, and I will not be working in a school. I will be staying in Evanston/Chicago.
And of course, what's next for my last days in Madrid. CRAMMING ALL OF MY THINGS in 2 suitcases. How did I accumulate so much stuff?
