We finish school on June 22nd, so I have 3 more days of work left. The day I finish school I am leaving to go to a beach frisbee tournament in Portugal called Bar do Peixe. It's a 4 day hat tournament, where you camp out and enjoy the good weather and of course play lots of frisbee. After that I will be in Madrid for a few days and the next weekend will head a few hours north to go to another frisbee hat tournament in Montemayor.
Then for the month of July I will be an au-pair in El Puerto de Santa Maria. This is a town in Andalucia, more specifically Cadiz. It is right on the ocean and is supposed to be beautiful. I currently babysit for this family 4 afternoons a week in Madrid and am really excited to spend part of my summer with them. Being from the midwest I spent a lot of time by Lake Michigan, but haven't spent much time near the ocean, so what a treat.
For the month of August I will travel around the north of Spain, south of France, and will make my way over to Italy. The last week of August I will be volunteering at the World Championship of Beach Ultimate. From there I will return to Madrid for a few days only to leave again.
For the first few days of September I will be in England visiting my friend Kate from home, who will be turning 25! And after that blowout I will spend my last few days in Madrid, say goodbye, and head back to the USA. When I'm finally home, I'll have been gone for 1 week shy of a year. I'm currently enjoying my last 2 1/2 months in Spain/Europe, but can't wait to be on American soil again.
There are so many amazing things you will do in the next 2.5 months! you are one lucky chica. I am getting a bit nostalgic thinking of what I missed/am missing by having left in December. I hope I get some Julia-time when you are back state side.
ReplyDeleteWhirlwind trips like this can be exhausting, but there will be so many opportunities for awesome experiences. I hope you get to take advantage of all of them! Please eat lots of gambas in Cádiz in my honor.
Love!
