The boring stuff

Amazing people watching on the Metro!!

What does a normal day look like for me? I don't work on Mondays, so who knows what that day looks like?!

I wake up around 7:45 am and do the normal stuff I would have done in the states. I walk to my neighborhood metro stop around 8:30am. I'd never had to make the morning rush hour commute back in Evanston, Chicago, or Wooster so I was quite shocked to be a part of it here. I often cannot enter in the 1st or even 2nd metro that passes by me because they are so full. Unfortunately I can't really read and definitely can't knit on the train because of how crowded it is. I've been blazing through podcasts instead on my daily half hour commute and enjoy the excellent people watching! The best part of work is the 30 minute required coffee break at school. The school is required to give us coffee, and delicious snacks, fruit, etc. Then back to class and soon enough I have my 2 hour lunch break. Back to class again and I'm free everyday by 4pm.

I still have to get used to this eating dinner at 9pm or later. I usually have something going on that keeps me from eating before then. I can't believe how late they stay up here. The world doesn't really start any later than in the states, but it definitely goes later. I know I miss my schedule when I used to go to bed at 10pm, but whenever I intend to do it here it's just impossible.
